CROSSFIT GAMES UPDATE: DUBAI QUALIFIERS

Before we begin, don't forget that the two names atop each list have received automatic bids for previously winning the tournament.

I look at this list, and I find it very, very interesting. As you know I am a huge fan of the sport, and seeing this may actually get me out of my slump following last weeks HQ news.

There are a LOT of familiar faces on that leaderboard, as well as some names I have never heard of. Additionally, there are a huge number of big names nowhere to be found, not the least being back to back champ Tia Clair Toomey on the ladies side.

For the individuals, this list instantly gets me excited to watch, as the best heats of this should be like a good close heat at the CrossFit Games, which is EXACTLY what I was hoping for form these sanctioned events. This list also makes me wonder if everyone was doing this qualifier. And by "everyone", I mean the big name athletes we all love to follow. Where's my girl Kara Saunders at? Tia? Brooke? Camille? The same can be said on the dudes side, no Vellner, no Brent (yeah right on that last name from memory bro), my main man Bridges, the list could be quite lengthy indeed. I wish I had a list of big names that tried and failed to qualify; who knows, maybe I will find one and if so, naturally I shall share.

In closing, I would just like to quickly say OMG THE TEAMS ARE STACKED. Again, missing some big names on the teams side, but it is also super cool to see some teams coming together made of powerhouse individuals with multiple years of games experience. I mean, if you think team is your best way to qualify, go for it, and that will make the team competition in each of these events incredibly fun to watch.

All in all, very exciting stuff. If you find a list of athletes that tried and failed to make this competition, send it to me at marc@voyedgerx.com.

Talk soon peeps.
