4 WAYS TO MAKE UNPACKING EASIER

Everyone hates unpacking, it's just a fact of life. You are all sad after returning from your trip, potentially jet lagged, and the LAST thing anyone wants to have to do is unpack their suitcase. To try and make this process easier, here are four tricks to make your life that much easier when you get home.

packing unpacking

1. Start Unpacking Immediately

Like ripping a band-aid off, just get her done. The sooner you start, the sooner you finish. Plus, ideally, you could still be riding the high of the trip chatting with roommates/family which will make time go by faster.

2. Have Your Kids Do It

This sounds like a joke, but it's not. In a fun way, have your kids help you unpack while you tell them about the trip you were just on. Or, if they need added motivation, hold the souvenirs over their head, as in they get what you brought once they help you unpack! Many hands make light work people.

3. Don't Over Pack

This is a strategy that involves planning ahead, and getting in front of the issue. If you don't over pack, you should have very little to unpack when you return! Let me tell you from experience, a duffle bag of 15 items is much faster and easier to unpack than a suitcase and carry-on of 40+ items.

4. Time Travel Laundry

If you are going to be doing laundry on your trip, the time it so your last pair of clean clothes are on your back for the return flight. This way when you arrive home, you simply dump your suitcase into the washer machine and let her rip! Put your bag of toiletries away and you are done in seconds. This is what I do, and it's very effective.
