CROSSFIT GAMES UPDATE: ASIA INVITATIONAL PROGRAMMING GETS A FACE LIFT

Asia-Regional.jpg

The Asia CrossFit Invitational is not for several months, but already they are making waves in the CrossFit Games news. A few weeks ago, it was announced on Instagram that Spencer Hendel, Austin Malleolo, and James Hobart have been enlisted by the Asia Invitational to program the entire event!

The three men are CrossFit Games OG's who have appeared on teams and as individuals multiple times at the games. In addition, they are all seminar staff members, and elite coaches and programmers. The triplet already has a programming side gig (The HAM Plan), a subscription service where they work together to program for individuals and affiliates around the world.

SO this is pretty amazing I think, for a few reasons. One, they are all fun dudes who will program a SUPER fun event for athletes and fans alike. This shows great initiative by the Asia CrossFit Championship folks to hire these guys to make a fun and challenging event by people who know what it takes to get there?

My question out of all of this, however, do they get to compete? As far as I am aware, these three will all be pushing for a bid to the games in some capacity, and although it's a small and far away thing, I hope that they are not allowed to compete in their own programmed event. That would obviously be an unfair advantage.
