Tia-Clair Toomey, who you just might know as the 2x reigning fittest woman on earth, has pulled out of the CrossFit sanctioned event in her homeland of Australia. This story, first reported by Tommy Marquez, sheds a lot of light onto just how seriously these athletes are taking these events.

Tia is a native Australian who just recently moved to Cookeville Tennessee after the 2018 Games season. Wodapalooza is the week before, a competition to which Toomey received and accepted an automatic invite. She also had an auto invite to the competition in Australia, but decided that the travel and recovery would be too much in too short of a time.

This is a head scratcher for me if I am being honest. First of all, Aussies love Australia. I am a bit stumped as to why Tia would bow out of the competition in her native land, to compete here instead. Even more so, the Wodapalooza lineup is STACKED, a very difficult competition oozing with former games competitors. While there is no easy ticket to the games this year, a wise man might say that Australia is the easier path to the games, especially when compared to Wodapalooza.

I guess that's why she's the fittest, right? No backing down. Marc, OUT!
