Fittest Travel WOD #11 - 'All Jacked Up'

"Obstacles cannot crush me. Every obstacle yields to stern resolve. He who is fixed to a star does not change his mind." - Leonardo Da Vinci

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend! One of the perks of the time off is to recuperate, spend time with family, and gear down, which inevitably can be a good thing, but can also lead to bad habits, and a lapse in nutrition regimens and also a lack of working out. And as we all know, fitness is a never-ending journey, and the more consistent you are, the better results you'll have over a long period.

The holidays are certainly tough though, and for most people, the lapse in fitness and in healthy go hand in hand. It's because you simply don't have access to your normal gym, and have spent some time flying or driving back to where they need to be, in order to be with your families. All the sitting down, bad calories, alcohol, and late nights going out to the bars or restaurants can compile faster than you know it, and leave you off with room to make up as you head into the Christmas Season.

But, our friends at Fittest Travel are here to remind you, that no matter where you go, or what you do, there are more than ample ways to stay fit while traveling, and that's what their blog is all about. Plus, they always have PLENTY of travel WOD's and important info on nutrition, traveling, and so much more. It's something I've come to read often and would highly recommend to all our readers here in VoyEdge.

You can head to their blog here, or view the workout we've selected for those pesky long holidays that keep you away from your family sometimes....read more down below. Let's dive in.

WOD #11

For Time:

2 Minutes Double Unders (or jumping jacks)

2 Minutes Sit-ups

Rest 1 min

90 sec Double Unders

90 sec Sit-ups

Rest 1 min

60 sec Double Unders

60 sec Sit-ups

I really like this one because it encourages you to have a healthy core, as well as gives you a lung burn. The jump rope is so often underused in peoples lives, and from boxing, to CrossFit, to parkour, it's a tool of the trade, which can yield superb benefits over a long period. Whether it's stronger calves, more aerobic capacity, or a lean body, the jump rope (especially double unders) can be so rewarding.
