The Bucket List: The World's Longest Zip-line

This is really a two-for-one blog here, but the there are TWO World records here (both in Dubai) and one is the longest zip-line in the world, while the other is the longest urban zip-line in the world.

Let's get to the first one - the Jebel Jais Flight that measures over 1.7 miles long, making it longer than the Golden Gate Bridge, and is also located on the tip of the United Arab Emirate's tallest mountain, the Jebel Jais.

The World's Longest Zipline

The World's Longest Zipline propels people at speeds of up to 150 kph or about 90 mph if you're from the U.S. The equivalent of 28 Olympic sized soccer fields, this epic track was certified by the Guinness Book of World Records in February 2018.

The zip line itself can handle as many as 100,000 tourists per year and while there are no age restrictions, you must be at least 1.22 meters tall and less than 150 kilograms. Or about 4 feet tall and weigh less than 330 lbs.

Most impressive is that the zip line starts at an elevation of 1 mile (or about 1,680 meters) above sea level on top of the mountain. And if you need to imagine just how long this zip line is....it is 29 Big Bens stacked on top of each other. That's a long ways down....hope you're not afraid of heights.

The Jebel Jais Zipline is truly a bucket-list item for the world and is also open year-round. Not to mention, it only costs about $91 USD per flight. The only question is.....would you do it?

Drop us a comment at the end of this post and let us know.

P.S. If you were wondering if they run shuttle tours from Dubai, the answer is yes. See here.

The World's Longest Urban Zipline (Also Dubai)

Nothing like watching the Prince of Dubai live his best life, right?

The World's Longest Urban Zip line is the XLine Dubai Marina and whether you want to take the 1-kilometer plunge into the urban center alone, or with a friend, it's going to be one hell of a ride.

You don't need to be a superhero to ride this thing, but you'll certainly feel like one at the end of it.

The XLine Dubai Marina is open every day from 9 am to 5 pm everyday and all you have to do is be between the ages of 12 and 65 and taller than 130 cm (4 feet 2 inches), weigh less than 150 kg (330 lbs) and be in good medical condition.

Spanning 170 meters tall from the Amwaj Towers across the marina to the Dubai Marina Mall, you'll swing past the Cayan Tower and downtown Dubai.

You can even strap a GoPro to your wrist for an extra cost and speed up to 80 kmph 1 kilomter across downtown Dubai right next to your best bud. Now, that's pretty rad ain't it?

If you want more info ----> Head to their website here.

Now, which one would you rather do? The first one or this second one? Either way, they are both bucket-list items for us and we can't WAIT to try this someday.

I mean....even the Prince of Dubai is doing this stuff....
