DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA AND HEAD TO HOOVER DAMN + LAKE MEADE
Welcome to the 'City of Sin,' also known as the "Devil's Desert." No worries though, you'll only be flying in to Las Vegas in the morning! After the group gets together, we'll head straight to the Hoover Dam (the largest man-made dam in existence) and Lake Meade (759 miles of coastline), just over a 30 minute drive away. We'll spend the afternoon touring through the dam and lake, and then head to Kingman CrossFit for a drop-in (optional) while the rest of the group hangs out in town. After reconnecting, we'll head to our accommodations in Flagstaff, AZ for the night.
Included: Pick up from the airport/transfer into Las Vegas. Hoover Dam + Lake Meade tour (tickets included), drop-in to Kingman CrossFit, group dinner in Kingman, transportation to and accommodations in Flagstaff.
Optional Activities: Kingman CrossFit (if you're not a CrossFit athlete, no worries!) Take the time to explore the surrounding community of Kingman, where we'll have a group dinner. Optional night out in Flagstaff, AZ.
DAY 2 - WELCOME TO THE GRAND CANYON
There's a load of surprising facts about the Grand Canyon, and chances are, you've only skimmed the surface of this incredible place. Housing the most remote community in the lower 48 states, this 70 million year old canyon is over 6,000 feet deep and is the second-deepest canyon in the world. This causes some amazing weather changes depending on where you are in the canyon. And you're about to see all of its majesty with your very own two eyes! The group will start off Day 2 with an early drop-in to CrossFit Flagstaff (if you're not a CrossFitter, skip it!). We'll regroup for breakfast and take the shuttle around the park to hike along the South Kaibab Trail. Choose between a guided tour later in the day, or biking through the Canyon trails (paid for by VoyEdge RX). We'll reconvene at a nearby campground (with full facilities), barbecue to recap the day, and sleep under the starts in Yurts.
Included: CrossFit Flagstaff drop-in, breakfast in Flagstaff, transportation to Grand Canyon, either a bike tour or guided hiking tour along South Kaibab Trail. Accommodations and night barbecue in Yurts.
Optional Activities: Hike or Bike tour, CrossFit Flagstaff drop-in, or anything else you may encounter along the way.
DAY 3 - SUNRISE HIKE AND RED ROCK STATE PARK
Day 3 will kick off with an early hike to watch the sun rise. If you've never seen the sun rise in the desert, you're going to be in for a welcome surprise. It's truly an incredible, unique experience (you'll get the chills)...from there, we'll link up with the rest of the group and together we'll hike the Bright Angel Trail, just a short distance from where we woke up in the morning. There will be two separate caravans; one for the sun rise hike, and one for people who cherish their sleep! :)
After the Bright Angel Trail, the group will head to Red Rock State Park in Sedona, AZ around noon. A short two hour ride will be all you need to rest and gear up for the gorgeous views of the Cathedral Rock and Mogollon Rim. Everything here is a protected area and you'll have the rest of the afternoon to explore Red Rock through sunset. There is an option to do a tour here, and VoyEdge RX will pay for your ticket and guided expedition through the State Park. After sunset, we'll depart for Lees Ferry Campground in Marble Canyon, AZ to spend the night.
Included: Breakfast, guided sunrise hike, Bright Angel Trail hike, Cathedral Rock and Mogollon Rim hike, and Red Rock State Park (guided tour included)
Optional Activities: Travel WOD, Sunrise hike, Bright Angel Trail hike, Red Rock State Park guided tour.
DAY 4 - EXPLORE ANTELOPE CANYON + HORSESHOE BEND
There's been a ton of hiking over the past few days, so today you'll rest up a bit this morning and enjoy a hearty breakfast at the campground, followed by a mobility session afterwards. From there, VoyEdge RX will arrange transport to the Grand Staircase-Escalante in Utah. You'll have time to explore the surrounding area and visitors center before taking on the breathtaking Antelope Canyon and partaking in the tour.
Lastly, we'll head to Horseshoe Bend for a short, guided tour in the late afternoon. And if that wasn't enough, we've included an optional nightcap WOD at Powell CrossFit before making our way to Bryce Canyon, where we'll spend the night at the Bryce County Cabins before tackling two days of hiking in Utah!
Included: Breakfast in campground, mobility session, guided tour of Grand Staircase-Escalante, guided tour of Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend, WOD at Powell CrossFit, transportation to Bryce Canyon, and accommodations.
Optional Activities: Mobility session, WOD at Powell CrossFit, guided tours at all of the parks we're going to.
DAY 5 - BRYCE CANYON'S PEEKABOO TRAIL
"Pillars of red, white, and orange cut through bluest skies. Erosion and rain constantly evolve nature’s amphitheater at Bryce. Wind your way through the canyons, peaceful, stunning, and immense."
Bryce Canyon is also home to horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters carved from the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau, scenic vistas, and the dark night sky. Visitors can expect spectacular hiking, camping, endless outdoor ranger activities, and even a Prairie Dog Festival. Because the park covers a vertical distance of over 2,000 feet, it exists in three distinct climatic zones: spruce or fir forest, Ponderosa Pine forest, and Pinyon Pine or juniper forest. You're going to see all three distinct climates on the hike down the Peek-A-Boo Trail. The Peek-A-Boo Loop Trail begins at Bryce Point and drops quickly to the canyon floor. This hike is listed as a strenuous hike due to the rapid elevation change and the length. It's highly advised to bring water, sunglasses, snacks, and sunscreen.
As one of the darkest places in the United States at night, we urge you to go stargazing here tonight. We will spend the night again at the Bryce County Cabins with a healthy barbecue to celebrate the day.
Included: Entrance to Bryce Canyon, hike down the Peek-A-Boo trail, stargazing, travel WOD, and barbecue to end the day.
Optional Activities: Travel WOD, hike down Peek-A-Boo Trail, horse/mule riding, biking through Bryce and more.
DAY 6 - HIKE IN ZION NATIONAL PARK
Legs tired yet? Make sure to get a good nights rest the night before, as you'll start your journey to Zion National Park. We will have a few hike options for the day, depending on how short or long you want to be out on the trail. The Angels Landing Trail will be for our day-long hikers who want an adventure and some incredible views. For those who want a lighter day, we will take on the Canyon Overlook Trail. Don't worry though. There's so much to do here, you can't go wrong. Spend the day in the great outdoors, and we'll reconvene before heading back to our accommodations for another group dinner.
Included: Breakfast, hike all day in Zion National Park, group dinner, stargazing, all accommodations and transportation.
Optional Activities: You can see this list of TripAdvisor's list of things to do while in Zion. Or assess the full situation when you're there!
DAY 7 - COURT OF THE PATRIARCH'S, ANGEL'S LANDING, AND EMERALD FALLS
Zion National Park is huge. So big in fact, that some surveyors missed canyons almost 20 miles wide! Add in the fact that there has been a steady human population in Zion National Park for over 8,000 years, and you've got a lot of history to cover. There are over 900 individual species of plants and a place called 'Weeping Rock' where the water oozing out of the rocks has taken over 1,000 years to penetrate the surface...
To say the least, Zion National Park is fascinating, and today, you'll have a complete free day in Zion to explore as you wish. Feel free to take on Zion on horseback, or many of its hiking trails throughout the park. We'll do the best we can to give you every option to see what you want to see. From there, we'll plan a meet-up point to head back to our accommodations. Take today as a free day to explore and see all you can before our departure tomorrow!
Included: Park entrance, breakfast, all RT transportation and another group dinner on VoyEdge RX! Accommodations also included before departure tomorrow.
Optional Activities: Choosing what to do in Zion National Park can almost be as hard as the activities themselves! Look at this list of Things To Do. Just make sure to bring your camera!
