ATHLETICS DIRECTOR / LEVEL 3 CROSSFIT COACH
Larry Thomas is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and he represents everything fitness. Larry graduated from McDaniel College with a degree in Exercise Science and a double minor in Sports Coaching and Athletic Training. Larry was also a member of the varsity football team during his 4 year tenure there.
Right out of college, Larry went on to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. He became a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA, which is one of the highest accolades you can achieve in the field. He would spend the next 4 years working at a private facility training primarily with high school, collegiate, and professional athletes in the areas of sports performance and athletic enhancement.
Somewhere along this path Larry discovered CrossFit and got involved as an athlete, competing and taking home medals in numerous local competitions. His passion for this as a sport and his background as a strength coach led him to coaching CrossFit.
He spent time studying at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York. While there he earned the Advanced Weightlifting Coach certification through USA Weightlifting. Larry now holds the title of CrossFit level 3 trainer and coaches full-time at Commonwealth CrossFit and Reebok CrossFit One, as well as Northeastern University. Larry brings a lot to the table in terms of fitness knowledge, quality coaching, and an awesome workout experience.
