Iceland is an incredibly unique country and in 2018 alone, had over 2.5 million tourists visit the island. As a Nordic island with a population of only 348,000 and roughly 40,000 sq. miles, it is the most sparsely population country in Europe, leaving a lot of room for adventure.
On this tour, you will spend an incredible 5-days, 4 nights exploring Iceland's Southern Coast, ice climbing glaciers, snowmobiling over tundra's, ATV'ing over mountains, hiking through lava caves and enjoying unlimited drop-ins at CrossFit Reykjavik. Two meals, a walking tour and multiple VRX tour guides, as well as a trip photographer are included.
You will be staying in a hotel centrally, and conveniently located in-between the downtown area and CrossFit Reykjavik with breakfast included.
Pick and transfer from the airport to the hotel is included as well. Last but not least, enjoy a free day on day three and a pit stop to the Blue Lagoon before heading back out for your flight.
Flights for this trip are not included and are an added expense for the customer.
You may choose to arrive early or stay late, if you wish. Please note that you will be responsible for booking your own transportation, activities, and meals if you are arriving early or staying late. You have the option of having VRX book you a hotel room and adding the cost to your invoice for a small fee.
Daily hikes, workouts and CrossFit box drop-ins are part of this tour and included in the price. You do NOT need to be a CrossFit athlete in order to sign-up, although daily workouts and fitness options are available for you to participate in. We welcome all ages, abilities, fitness levels and only require you to be willing to step outside your comfort zone and try new things while on this tour. The most strenuous activity on this tour is the ice climbing excursion, which is scalable and at your discretion! You may just watch if you wish :)

We will give you a few hours to freshen up before we head into town for walking tour and learn more about Reykjavik. From there, we will have an included group dinner to get to know your family for the week!

Day 2 is a jam-packed, awesome day. After an included breakfast, the group will depart for one of Iceland's most famous tours, 'The Golden Circle.' First, you will see Thingvellir National Park, an ancient site where Iceland's tribes once gathered and forged the first parliament. This is also where historic battles have been fought, won, and decided the fates of many natives to this magical country. You will see the continental divide, and learn about the history of this magical place before departing to the Strokkur Geysir, and of course, the Gullfoss Waterfall. This awe-inspiring water feature is now the main source of hydroelectric power for the entire country of Iceland. Finally, you will end the day by doing a 1-2 hour snowmobile tour on one of Iceland's largest glaciers - Langjökull!
As a group, you will be offered either a morning or late afternoon workout at CrossFit Reykjavik.

Today is your chance to relax between a couple of adrenaline-packed days. Our half day hiking adventure will take us about 40 minutes away to Reykjadalur (also known as Steam Valley). Steam Valley is a geothermal area surrounded by gorgeous mountains. We will hike through Steam Valley, and be able to take a dip in the warm river, taking in the beauty around all of us.
We will be back in Reykjavik early enough for you to explore on your own a bit for the night! You will have the option of either a morning or afternoon workout at CrossFit Reykjavik, too.

After breakfast, we will have an AM departure to Iceland's famous Southern Coast. In this epic excursion, we will stop at the legendary waterfalls of Skogafoss, Seljalandsfoss, as well as walk the black sand beaches of Vik. After our lunch stop at Vik, we will head to a nearby glacier that retreats in the summer to reveal an epic opportunity. With help from our mountaineering guides, we will strap on two ice axes, and learn to climb the glacier while attached to a rope.
The group will then hike up into the glacier for some spectacular scenery, all while learning about Iceland's amazing ecosystem. Shortly after, we will return to Reykjavik to conclude an epic day! Afterwards, we head back to Reykjavik for our last group dinner before the Blue Lagoon tomorrow.
An optional morning workout will be offered at CrossFit Reykjavik.

Today is our last morning together before departure later on! Be sure to get some breakfast at the hotel before we get whisked away to the Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland's most famous attractions. Lay back in the blue waters and reflect on the epic adventures we have had. We will recount some of the memories from the trip and just R-E-L-A-X before hopping on our flights home. One last optional morning workout will be offered at CrossFit Reykjavik, too.
