ICELAND SUMMER TOUR
JULY 6-11th, 2019
Each trip was incredibly unique, from hiking, waterfalls, lava caves, leather markets, and drinking under an Italian sunset with people from all over. I got my butt kicked in intense workouts and hikes, and relaxed in natural hot springs. Best of all, I shared these experiences with loved ones and built new friendships everywhere I went.
Welcome to Reykjavik, Iceland! Home to some of the world's greatest natural wonders, and the start of our weeklong journey here. Shoot for a morning arrival at Keflavik airport, and we will be there to greet you before heading back to the hotel for check in. We will give you a few hours to freshen up before we head into town for walking tour and learn more about Reykjavik! From there, we will have an early group dinner, and cap off the evening by heading out on the town for a few drinks, and to catch an epic midnight sunset!
Avg. temp in Reykjavik in July = 59 F / 15 C
Day 2 kicks off with an optional early morning workout at CF Reykjavik, followed by an AM departure to Iceland's famous Southern Coast. In this epic excursion, we will stop at the legendary waterfalls of Skogafoss, Seljalandsfoss, as well as walk the black sand beaches of Vik. After our lunch stop at Vik, we will head to a nearby glacier that retreats in the summer to reveal an epic opportunity. With help from our mountaineering guides, we will strap on two ice axes, and learn to climb the glacier while attached to a rope.
The group will then hike up into the glacier for some spectacular scenery, all while learning about Iceland's amazing ecosystem. Shortly after, we will return to Reykjavik to conclude an epic day!
Avg. temp in Reykjavik in May = 50 F / 10 C
Iceland has a ton of things to do. Renting a car, setting sail out to the Westman Islands, puffin hunting (or sightseeing), beer tastings, ATV rides, and ice or lava cave explorations are all at your fingertips today. This day is 100% yours, so find an excursion that gets your heart pumping, and go enjoy it!
Take a look at some of the activities you can do, but feel free to enjoy an included breakfast, and optional drop-in at any point to CrossFit Reykjavik today! If being with a group is more up your alley, talk to your guides and see what they plan on doing. Or....if you're feeling adventurous…
Avg. temp in Iceland in July = 58 F / 14 C
Day 4 is another jam-packed, awesome day. After an included breakfast, the group will depart for one of Iceland's most famous tours, 'The Golden Circle.' First, you will see Thingvellir National Park, an ancient site where Iceland's tribes once gathered and forged the first parliament. This is also where historic battles have been fought, won, and decided the fates of many natives to this magical country.
You will see the continental divide, and learn about the history of this magical place before departing to the Strokkur Geysir, and of course, the Gullfoss Waterfall. This awe-inspiring water feature is now the main source of hydroelectric power for the entire country of Iceland. Finally, you will end the day by doing a 1-2 hour snowmobile tour on one of Iceland's largest glaciers - Langjökull!
Avg. temp in Langökull in July = 45 F / 7 C
Today we will partake in a half-day ATV tour through the mountains of Iceland just outside of Reykjavik. The ATV tour takes approximately 2-3 hours. It is a SHARED excursion, which means you will double up on an ATV while you go up and down the mountain. After the tour, we will be dropped off in downtown Reykjavik before being picked up to go explore the lava caves.
This is on the other side of Reykjavik, where we will learn about amazing geological formations throughout the untouched lava fields. Afterwards, we'll be whisked back to the hotel for an optional evening workout and group dinner before the Blue Lagoon tomorrow!
Avg. temp in Reykjavik in July = 59 F / 15 C
Day 6 is our day to pack up and head to the Blue Lagoon for the morning for a few hours before departing to the airport. Be sure to get some breakfast at the hotel before catching an early morning bus that will whisk us away to the Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland's most famous attractions. Lay back in the blue waters and reflect on the epic adventures we have had. It's the best way to relax before heading home. We will recount some of the memories from the trip and just R-E-L-A-X before hopping on our flights home.
Avg. water temp at the Blue Lagoon = 99 F / 38 C
Drop-ins are included in the price of the trip, but working out is never mandatory on any VoyEdge RX trip. There will, however, be optional workouts on most days on all of our tours, if not some seriously awesome adventure activities, hikes and more.

I was never renowned for my physical prowess. I had to work at it...and being super competitive it wasn't always easy. As a tour guide, the gym became my solace. My church. My outlet for too much booze and lack of sleep. Somehow I survived the madness of being a tour guide in Europe after college, but the key takeaway from my 2+ years there, was a life better lived through travel & fitness. Read more here...
Well here goes the initial blog post of Tony Beringer. Now what to talk about huh?
My heart says to get a little personal on this one for plenty of reasons but I won’t bore you with too much of that. I will just hop right into it as I do get a bit long winded when writing. This will be a numbered list and my goal is to keep it short, funny, and informative of not only what I want to accomplish as a co-founder of the company VoyEdge RX but also what I hope to accomplish as a person in the near and much distant future. Strap in as this could possibly be a riveting experience.
