arrive into calgary & head to banff town

Day 1 - welcome to calgary. let's head to banff, shall we?

Welcome to Calgary, Alberta, home to one of Canada's most adventurous provinces! After you arrive, we'll meet the group at the airport before hopping in a van and driving Banff. We will check in to our accommodations and get ready for a group dinner and night out to explore the town! 

Fun Fact:  Banff is located at an elevation of 4,537 feet, making it the highest town in Canada. It also has over 1,600 km of hiking trails. That's 994 miles for you, American folks.

Day 2 - hike sulphur mountain & nature kayak through lake bow preserve

Wake up at our accommodations with breakfast and get ready for a big day. Today, we will hike Sulphur Mountain to enjoy some incredible views of Banff National Park. After a scenic gondola back down, we will enjoy an included lunch at a local eating establishment.

Then we will head to Lake Bow to rent canoes/kayaks and explore the lakes and streams in the area. Have cameras ready, as a chance for an encounter with wildlife will be high! After that, you'll have some free time to explore Banff on your own before returning to our accommodations.

Fun Fact:  Banff is Canada's oldest national park, established in 1885 and is the third-oldest national park in the world. Sulphur Mountain also has naturally occurring hot springs and a gondola to the top

via ferrata clim up mt. norquay

Day 3 - mt. norquay's via ferrata

Today is a big day! We will grab breakfast at the hotel, load your luggage in the van, and depart early for the Via Ferrata tour on Mt. Norquay. This tour is an epic combination of hiking, rock climbing, and elevated obstacles up, down, and along the side of a mountain. It will give you breathtaking views of Banff National Park and will be a closely guided and monitored tour. You need no experience or equipment to do the tour, and will surely get an adrenaline rush.

From there, we will get lunch together (on VRX) and then depart in the vans to Lake Louise to check in to our accommodations for the next two nights. Get a unique first look at Lake Louise as we embark on a guided evening horseback riding tour. The rest of the night is yours to explore!

Fun Fact:  Italian for, "The Iron Road" Via Ferrata's are located in some of the most adventurous mountain areas in the world. Led by a certified guide, you will climb your way up to the top of Mt. Norquay's ski area. No climbing experience is necessary.

columbia icefields tour, skywalk & saddleback pass

Day 4 - athabasca falls & columbia icefields tour

Today we'll wake up, enjoy an included breakfast, and take off for the Columbia Icefields Tour and Glacier Skywalk. On this tour we will be walking across a sprawling glacier which retreats during the summer, revealing some of Banff's most majestic and untouched lands. We will take special vehicles onto the glaciers and explore their surfaces, before climbing to an overlook known as the 'Skywalk' that has panoramic views of the area.

After the tour, those with energy left in the tank will venture out to Saddleback Pass - a gorgeous two hour 7.4 km RT hike near Lake Louise. After the hike, it's back to our accommodations for some free time and an included group dinner before we head to Golden, British Columbia tomorrow!

Fun Fact:  The Columbia Icefields are considered one of the largest accumulations of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle and can reach depths of 2,000 feet. These Icefields also feed the Arctic, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and are incredibly important to the ecosystem.

moraine lake & head to golden, bc

Day 5 - lake moraine & atv'ing in golden, b.c.

Day 5 kicks off with a very relaxed morning. After breakfast at our accommodations, we will head over to the most photographed lake in the Banff National Park area, Moraine Lake. Complete with stunning and serene blue waters and adjacent mountains on the opposite side, the group will take an hour to circle the lake. This is a flat hike, more of a nice morning walk showcasing some of the breathtaking views that make Banff so inviting.

From there, the group will depart for Golden, British Columbia (about an hour away) for a ride up the Kicking Horse Sightseeing Gondola and optional lunch at the Eagle Eye Restaurant. A lazy morning makes for a thrilling afternoon. After lunch, we will head out on an ATV ride through the woods and game preserve of Golden. We will end the evening with an included dinner, before setting the group loose for  a night on the town.

Fun Fact:  Golden, B.C. is located between six Canadian National Parks and lays at the intersection of three major rivers. It has developed itself as one of the premiere adventure-related outdoor activity destinations in all of Canada

Day 6 - choose from whitewater rafting, paragliding or mountain biking

Day 6 is arguably one of the most adventurous days of the trip. With Golden, BC known for being the 'Adventure Sports Capital of Canada,' any of these tours will be well worth your time. That being said, different people like different things, and VoyEdge RX is prepared to cater to you! Today you choose one of these tours, on us: White water rafting on the Kicking Horse River (full day with lunch included), Paragliding, or a full day of Mountain Biking (downhill bike rental, full downhill gear, and a lift ticket included).

After your selected activity concludes for the day, we will regroup for an included dinner and a final night out before heading home midday tomorrow! Get pumped up and have an EPIC last day in Golden, BC!

Fun Fact:  Golden, B.C. was originally settled by rum-runners & bandits who also worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway. Around 1900, Europeans came over and inspired a more family-oriented town and an economy focused on the outdoor industry. Much of the architecture in Golden is also paralleled with Swiss designs

feast your eyes on the canadian rockies one last time

Day 7 - say goodbye to golden & the canadian rockies

Today is the last day of the tour. We will depart Golden and drive back through Banff town for an early breakfast/lunch before making our way to Calgary. If you wish to continue your travels, you may stay in Golden, Banff, or Calgary!

Today will be flexible based on the groups needs, and we'll break up the drive from Golden, BC back to Calgary as needed. Rest up, put a smile on, and soak in the scenery on the way back home! Thank you for joining us on this EPIC adventure and we hope you've made some newfound friends for life.

Fun Fact:  Banff National Park has an excess of 1,000 glaciers and has mountains estimated to be 45 to 120 million years old. Lastly, Banff National Park has had more than 4,000,000 visitors to the park since 1996
